Jim Kilponen
Jim Kilponen - Director-Foundation Chair
Jim has been a member of the Fullerton Sunrise Rotary since 1999 and served as President in 2007-2008. He is currently the Club’s Foundation Chair, coordinating international projects with The Rotary Foundation and handling the administration of member contributions.
Jim joined a Rotary Club because he wanted to give something personal back to the community. He joined Fullerton Sunrise, a small morning club, because of the spirit and camaraderie that he saw from his first visit. The fun and laughter of that morning meeting started the day off on a positive note. The club’s hands-on involvement in local projects and dedication to service were strong incentives to participate.
Jim’s business career included marketing and management position with Kraft/General Foods in New York and ConAgra/Hunt-Wesson in Fullerton. When he retired, Jim held the position of Vice President and General Manager for a division of Unilever, North America.
Jim earned a BS degree and an MBA from Northwestern University. He has served on the Board of Directors of the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association as well as the Fullerton Public Library Foundation. He was President of the Friends of the Fullerton Arboretum in 2003-2005.
Jim lives in Orange with his wife Linda. They have four grown children and one grandchild. |
