Howard Dutra is a native Southern Californian (7thgeneration).
He and is wife, Carol are long time Fullerton Residents. They have two children
and four grandchildren.
He graduated from UCLA in 1973 with a degree in Poli Sci.
Upon graduation from UCLA, Howard served in the U.S. Marine Corps
for eight years serving as a commissioned officer in combat arms and aboard a
U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier .
After serving in the Marine Corps, he earned an MBA degree in 1993
at Sam Houston State, Huntsville, TX, when he lived and worked in the Houston,
TX, area. He also attended Western State University School of Law in Fullerton,
in the early ‘80s.
After his service, Howard spent 20 years in the medical device
manufacturing field, finally as an owner of a company that manufactures
supplies for IV therapy.
For the last 5 years he has worked as an active Real Estate Broker
who specializes in multi-family, income producing properties and fine homes.
Dutra has been a Rotarian since 1998 and Sunrise Rotarian since
2005. With the club he has headed committees that staged major Broadway plays
as fund raisers for causes in Fullerton, especially theFullerton Public
Library,FACESandCrittenton Services.
In addition to his work with Rotary he is active as a volunteer
Scouter in Southern California and the West, and is active in his Church.
